Karmine Corp, Vitality, Heretics, and SK featured in the Team of the Week
The LEC Spring Split is back with a new BO3 format, and the first week delivered plenty of action. Aside from Fnatic, every team that played two BO3s suffered back-to-back losses—Movistar KOI, Rogue, and GIANTX. Fnatic secured a win against GX before falling to SK Gaming, while KOI put up a fight but ultimately lost to both G2 Esports and Karmine Corp. Meanwhile, Team Vitality, and particularly their solo laners, impressed in their victory over GX.
The Sheep Esports LEC Team of the Week features Kaan "Naak Nako" Okan in the toplane, Martin "Yike" Sundelin in the jungle, Mateusz "Czajek" Czajka in midlane, with Tim "Keduii" Willers and Paul "Stend" Lardin rounding out the botlane. The Polish midlaner delivered standout performances on Azir and Ryze against GX, earning him the MVP title for LEC Spring Split Week 1.
Top: Naak Nako
Naak Nako’s split is off to a strong start. The Turkish toplaner delivered an excellent performance on Gnar in Game 1, with flawless positioning and perfectly timed Mega Gnar transformations. His ultimates were game-changing, securing crucial fights for Vitality, while his coordination on engages made the difference. In Game 2, he shined on Yasuo, clutching a fight at the Atakhan and securing a double kill on Ismaïl "ISMA" Boualem and Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek.
Jungle: Yike
Karmine Corp took down their long-time Spanish rivals, Movistar KOI, with Yike playing a crucial role in the victory. The Swedish jungler delivered a monstrous Game 1 on Lillia, roaming on the map relentlessly and making every bush a danger zone for KOI. He even secured a quadra kill, closing out the game with a flawless 7/0/4 KDA. Game 2 was trickier on Sejuani, as KC's draft offered little room to maneuver, but they bounced back in Game 3 with a utility Ivern pick. The Ivern shields combined with Mountain Soul made KC's lineup unkillable, allowing Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert to step up aggressively and dismantle KOI with ease.
Mid: Czajek (MVP)
Undoubtedly the MVP of the week, Czajek was on fire during the BO3 against Adam "Jackies" Jeřábek, building on his strong Winter Split debut. His game-changing plays on Azir in Game 1 were crucial in securing a hard-fought victory for Vitality, finishing with a flawless 1/0/10 scoreline. In Game 2, he completely outclassed his opponent on Ryze, dealing even more damage and closing the game with a dominant 6/0/8. With his standout performance, he not only claims the MVP title for the series but also earns the MVP spot in our Team of the Week. His synergy with his toplaner was also on point, perfectly coordinating during the crucial fight at the drake.
ADC: Keduii
A stellar LEC debut for Keduii as SK Gaming dismantled Fnatic, with the German AD carry playing a key role in the dominant victory. In his first-ever LEC game, Keduii piloted Corki, a champion reliant on scaling, but SK executed their game plan flawlessly, allowing him to finish 4/0/3 while bombarding Fnatic into submission. Game 2 was far more chaotic, with 43 total kills and constant gold swings, but SK secured the win. Keduii topped the damage charts on Ezreal, helping his team deliver a much-improved performance compared to Winter.
Support: Stend
The third former Vitality.Bee player to make this Team of the Week, and it's well deserved. Team Heretics and Stend managed to turn Game 1 around against Rogue, thanks to a triple tank draft (Skarner, Cho'Gath, and Braum) that became nearly unkillable as the game progressed. Despite being behind in gold the entire match—even at the moment the Nexus fell—TH secured the win. Víctor "Flakked" Lirola Tortosa dealt only half the damage of Patrik "Patrik" Jírů’s Ashe, yet the Spanish botlane came out on top. Game 2 was much more one-sided, with TH dominating across all lanes. Stend's impact on Rakan was undeniable, consistently finding key engages that secured victory for his team.
