“The new system (a fixed offer) is based solely on 2024 sales. We felt this was inappropriate given our strong track record in previous years”
Rumors began circulating within the Rocket League community on Tuesday evening and were confirmed just a few hours later: unlike Team Vitality, Team Falcons, Gentle Mates, or NRG, Karmine Corp will not have an official team-branded car decal in 2025. This absence is particularly striking given KC’s stature on the RL scene. The organization has, for several years now, been regarded as one of the world’s top-performing teams... especially in the current season.
The trio built around prodigy Axel “Vatira” Touret has been nearly unbeatable in 2025. On the European circuit, KC dominated the competition, winning the first two Open Qualifiers for the Birmingham Major and reaching the finals of the third one. Even more impressively, the team went on to win the Major itself, without dropping a single game in either the Winners’ Final or the Grand Final series. Since September 21st, Karmine has recorded an astonishing 36 wins and only one loss—a nearly flawless run that underscores their current form.
A Mixed 2024
Until this Tuesday, KC’s 2025 season in Rocket League therefore appeared close to perfection. Arthur Perticoz, the club’s former CEO, now focused on strategic leadership, addressed the decal issue on X, explaining the reasoning behind the decision. “We’ve made the decision not to accept the offer for the KCorp decal. The proposed amount didn’t align with how we value our brand,” he stated. “To be fully transparent: the calculation method appears to be the same for every club.”
Arthur Perticoz then elaborated on the factors that rendered the offer unsatisfactory. “Previously, the model was based on sales, with a percentage per purchase. On that front, 2024 was a bad year: the decal didn’t meet our expectations (texture), our performance impacted our screen time, and we didn’t qualify for the second Major or the EWC—so we had no live matches for months… The new system (a fixed offer) is based solely on 2024 sales. We felt this was inappropriate given our strong track record in previous years.”
In other words, KC’s mixed results in 2024—including their absence from two of the season’s most significant events—negatively impacted the sales performance of their decal. Epic Games’ new proposal, based entirely on this weaker year, failed to reflect the club’s broader value and consistent performance. As a result, Karmine Corp declined the offer and will continue their 2025 campaign without a decal. While fans may be disappointed by the decision, all signs suggest it won’t be long before they’re smiling again.
