Aos Si is the only player to retain her place in the team
Solary Académie’s roster is now complete. According to sources from Sheep Esports, the team has finalized its selection for the women’s and non-binary scene for the 2025 season. The organization first opted to retain Sophia “Aos Si,” one of the backbones of last year's project. Having joined in May 2023 when the team was first established, the support player has become one of the faces of the structure, which, according to our information, did not consider replacing her.
A first in the scene, the French organization held its tryouts throughout the last month, in part via livestreams, during which it spotlighted 24 aspiring players before an average of 1,500 viewers. In a series of matches, fans were given a rare glimpse into the building process of this new squad.
After that, Solary's botlane quickly took shape, with AD Carry Fabienne “Clef” Kersting soon following, as she was one of the players the organization desired the most. The former Chester Gaming player was, in fact, the team's first choice for the position, according to our sources. For the remaining roles, however, the French team, which held extensive public tryouts, hesitated between multiple options. In the midlane, Solary weighed its options between Luna “Lilith” Benzerara-Arnoux and Malo. The organization ultimately selected the former GO Aurora player, who spent the entirety of 2024 competing at the highest level of the women’s scene. If Lilith had not been chosen by Solary, she most likely would have joined GameWard Astrals, who saw her as their frontrunner for the midlane.
Solary strongly considered retaining Yukiko
In the jungle, the team considered both Trez and Thorn before ultimately selecting the latter, who is now set to make her debut in the semi-professional scene. At just 17, she is a newcomer to the circuit. The Norwegian jungler has reached a peak of 500 LP in solo queue but has so far only competed in the lower divisions of the German Prime League system. With two French players, Lilith and Aos Si, in its starting roster, Solary will continue to fulfill the prerequisites for participation in the Coupe des Étoiles, one of the main competitions in the WNB scene.
For the toplane, Solary initially considered retaining Raphaëlle “Yukiko,” who, like Aos Si, joined the team in May 2023. However, the organization was ultimately convinced by Evie “Pivotless” Pullen’s performances during tryouts. The toplaner also previously played alongside Clef at Chester Gaming, who sources indicated advocated for her former teammate’s recruitment. As a reminder, shortly after launching its recruitment process, Solary announced that the team's Head Coach would be Cekean, who has so far officiated in the Nexus Tour, France's third national level.
The League of Legends WNB scene is also set to take on a new dimension in the coming months with the introduction of Game Changers, as previously reported by Sheep Esports. However, Solary Académie's presence in this competition is uncertain, as it remains unclear whether the team will receive an invitation or will have to earn its place through the qualifiers.
