After a year in the LCS, Diplex is back in Europe
Mid Laner Dimitri "Diplex" Ponomarev has just reached a verbal agreement with SK Gaming Prime to participate in the Prime League, according to Sheep Esports sources. After some strong performances in Europe throughout 2022, Diplex was scouted by Cloud9 to compete in the LCS before being benched in favor of EMENES.
Back to his ERL roots for 2024
Despite decent performances in the legendary North American organization, Cloud9 decided to bench Diplex in February of this year. The German mid laner has since then evolved in the NACL and has won his organization the title of Challengers League champion before said league would undergo large changes, leading to the disband of C9's academic division.
Since then, Diplex has returned to Europe, reaching upwards of 1552 LP on the ladder. While sentiments may be mitigated for Diplex, his performances are not to be understated and readers should remember that the German player was one of the most sought after ERL prospects last year.
Earlier this week, ex-SKP AD Carry Tim "Keduii" Willers was rumored to be leaving the team in favor of joining BDS Academy within the LFL. To replace him, the German organization has made moves to sign ex-LEC player Matúš "Neon" Jakubčík, as reported earlier today by Eros. The question remains: Will Diplex be able to redeem himself in what could be a star-studded roster?
