Barça Esports aim VALORANT ascension.
Sources confirm that Juan Carlos "meisoN" Chacón, Víctor "xikii" García, Tomás "Vorwenn" Baldrich, and Daniel "Saiz" Ruiz have reached a verbal agreement with Barça Esports to join the organization’s Valorant team for the 2025 season. The move signals a strategic shift for the Catalan club as they aim to strengthen their presence in the competitive Valorant scene.
Juan Carlos "meisoN" Chacón, previously the team’s assistant coach, is set to step into the head coach role, replacing Lucas "LRojo" Rojo after not renewing him, who led Barça throughout this past year. MeisoN’s promotion highlights the club's confidence in his leadership and vision for the team’s future.
In addition, Barça is reinforcing its coaching staff by bringing on board Víctor "xikii" García, the former head coach of Spanish team Falcons. Xikii's track record includes securing fourth and eighth positions in the Spanish Valorant league, making him the new addition to the Blaugrana organization.
On the player front, Tomás "Vorwenn" Baldrich, the team's captain and in-game leader, has agreed to stay for another season. Vorwenn’s leadership was instrumental in guiding Barça to victory in the second split of the Valorant Challengers Spain, along with Daniel "Saiz" Ruiz, the team’s sentinel player, who will also remain with the organization. The duo's performances helped Barça secure a top 10 finish in the 2024 Ascension tournament, solidifying their status as key figures in the Spanish Valorant scene.
With these renewals in place, Barça Esports is setting ambitious goals for the 2025 season. After a strong showing in the Spanish league, the team experienced a disappointing early exit in the Ascension tournament group stage. Determined to improve, the organization is aiming for victory in the 2025 Ascension tournament and is actively seeking to attract top talent from the Tier 2 Valorant scene.
While the core of the roster and coaching staff remains Spanish, sources suggest that Barça is open to maintaining an international roster in its quest for success, signaling the club’s intent to compete at the highest level of Valorant esports.
