Serial is set to take kamyk's spot on Team Liquid's VCT roster heading into Stage 1.
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Team Liquid are set to add "Serial" in place of Maks "kamyk" Rychlewski after reaching a verbal agreement. kamyk was initially signed to Team Liquid alongside fellow Polish teammates Kamil "kamo" Frąckowiak and Patryk "paTiTek" Fabrowski in November. Kamyk is already in talks with other VCT teams, but his future is undefined and could stay in Team Liquid bench.
Heading into Kickoff, Liquid qualified to Masters Bangkok as EMEA's second seed after a five-match lower bracket gauntlet. Liquid ultimately faced elimination in Bangkok with losses to EDward Gaming and G2 Esports in the swiss stage, finishing 5th-6th overall.
A rookie to the VCT
Serial joins Team Liquid as a rookie to the VCT, having most recently played in the tier two scene for HGE Esport. HGE qualified to Challengers EMEA #1 as the top seed from the Spanish league, yet exited in the group stage with a loss to Mandatory.
Amidst Liquid's trials, David "DaviH" Cruz of CGN Esports and "NINJA"—the latter being an academy player for TL—were noted as other likely candidates to be promoted in place of kamyk before ultimately settling on Serial.
