AOMA Builds Around A New DACH Core for the ESLOL.
Dutch organization A One Man Army have now secured a roster formed around top laner FatShield, jungler Deletus, mid laner Nano, bot laner Mauki, and support Moosey to compete in the Elite Series: League of Legends (ESLOL), according to sources close to Sheep Esports. The team is also set to continue with its existing coaching duo of Fabian "Number99" Rolf Biefel and Ludovit "Legi" Legius.
Playoffs or Bust
One of the Elite Series' youngest organizations, AOMA hasn't ceased to surprise the Benelux since its arrival. Despite only retaining its coaching staff after a 2nd place finish in the spring split, AOMA is now aiming to replicate and improve on its recent results in the summer season. Upon reaching out to sources close to the team, Sheep Esports was told that the organization expects a top 2 finish at least while also intending to compete for the championship.
Unfortunately, in a scenario much too common within lower circuits, the team faced severe internal issues in the first half of 2024, resulting in the departure of its entire spring lineup. Sources indicate that former top laner Martin "Wind" Prokopovic was the only past member to trial for the summer split. As one of the team's only remaining members, Number99 is now aiming to lead the charge as head coach, while being assisted by Legi, who both proved themselves valuable assets last split.
Building a more sustainable roster around an established trio, the team now hopes to strive for consistency with the signings of Christoph "Deletus" Steib, Gurjot "Nano" Singh, and Felix "Mauki" Grohs. Despite having gone their separate ways in recent times, the three members spent considerable time early on in their careers as they competed for Chilly Mountain in lower Prime League divisions under the direction of Floris "Vamir" Tuijn, the current Head of Coaching Staff within AOMA.
With this new roster, Deletus and Mauki will be tasked to prove themselves, as neither of them has competed in an ERL 1st Division in quite some time. Recently, the jungler was most known for his time with Fourth Wall in the NLC 2nd Division, with whom he finished in 3rd place. On the other hand, the team's bot laner competed in the Nexus Tour with Cicadas Gaming.
Being the team's star player, Nano is expected to be a player to look out for. Previously competing with Macko Esports, the player ended in 2nd place within the Italian ERL, before narrowly missing out on a main-stage qualification at the EMEA Masters. Sources indicate that the player did not intend to compete at first, as he had first planned to take a split off and focus on grinding the solo queue ladder, before eventually deciding to reunite with his former teammates in AOMA.
Rounding up the roster will be local talents Luke "FatShield" Eising and Kai "Moosey" van Bochoven, who will both have much to live up to. Despite being a resident of the Benelux region, the team's future top laner, FatShield, will be marking his return to the region for the first time since 2021, as he mostly competed within the Prime League and NLC 2nd Divisions in recent times. Unfortunately, Moosey will also have to step up greatly after ending his first split in the ESLOL in last place with Dynasty during the first half of 2024. While the support's signing may surprise many, sources indicate that the team decided to side with him after extensive trials, which eventually led to his signing.
