This is Solary's best result in the LFL since the league's creation in 2019
The LFL had a spectacular evening, witnessing the first-ever BO5 in its history played in a fearless draft go all the way to a fifth game. In this intense series, where 50 unique champions were picked, Solary emerged victorious against Galions with a 3-2 score, eliminating them from the Flash In tournament. Now, Solary sets its sights on the title, as highlighted by Nicolas "Decay" Gawron in the post-match interview after delivering a standout performance in the midlane.
It's a historic moment for the "Team d'Amis." A founding club of the LFL since its inception in 2019, Solary has just achieved the best result in its history. Often plagued by frustration at the end of each split—usually finishing mid-table and frequently missing the Playoffs—this victory against Galions guarantees them at least a top 3 finish in the league.
To get there, they had to battle fiercely against Galions, who never managed to stabilize their level of play despite the promise of an extremely experienced roster. The BO5 went down to the wire, culminating in a nail-biting Game 5 where Solary had to overcome their own weaknesses—often criticized for throwing games due to poor positioning or questionable decision-making.
One BO5 away from their first EMEA Master ever
Despite their elimination, it's worth highlighting Tolga "Serin" Ölmez's outstanding performances in the midlane for Galions. He could easily be considered the best player of the series, even though he struggled in the final game on Akali. On the Solary side, their leading duo, Mark "Markoon" van Woensel, and Decay, lived up to expectations, stepping up under pressure and delivering the most game-winning plays.
Now is the time to celebrate, but their journey isn't over yet. If they want to claim the title, they have up to two more matches ahead, starting with a showdown against Ici Japon Corp next Wednesday at 6 PM CET. Winning this match would also mean qualifying for the first EMEA Masters of the year alongside Karmine Corp Blue. This would even be the first time Solary qualifies for the EM.
