All regular season matches will be Bo3 and the entirety of Playoffs will be Bo5
Riot Games has unveiled the LEC 2025 Spring Split Primer. It will begin on March 29 at 2 PM CET with a triple best-of-three and will be played entirely in Fearless Draft. All regular-season matches will be Bo3, while the entire Playoffs will be Bo5. Teams will also have the opportunity to compete in front of their fans during the LEC Roadtrips in Spain and France.

On the first day, Fnatic will face GIANTX, followed by Team Heretics vs. Rogue and G2 Esports vs. Movistar KOI. the Winter Split champions, Karmine Corp, will make their debut on Sunday, March 30, against MKOI. Find the full schedule here.
Finally a new format
The LEC is finally abandoning Bo1s in the regular season, a format widely criticized for being ineffective and limiting the region’s development. Compared to Asian teams, which play more Bo5s and more games overall, LEC teams had fewer opportunities to adapt and improve. In previous seasons, the last-place team could be eliminated after just nine games, making the format unforgiving and unbalanced.
The new regular season will span seven weeks, with teams facing each other in Bo3s across a single round-robin. Six of the ten teams will qualify for the Playoffs, which will be played entirely in Bo5s under a double-elimination format, giving teams a second chance after a misstep. The two finalists of the LEC Spring Split 2025 will earn the honor of representing EMEA at MSI in Vancouver, Canada, from June 27 to July 12 and at Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia from 16 to 20 July.
Where and When to watch LEC Spring Split 2025
As previously mentioned, the LEC Spring Split will begin on Saturday, March 29, with the regular season concluding on May 12. Playoffs will then kick off on May 24, featuring the top six teams in Europe battling until the Split Finals on Sunday, June 8. The LEC broadcast will now start at 5 PM CET.
A new addition this split is the Roadtrips. On April 26-27, the LEC will head to Madrid, where Movistar KOI will host G2, Fnatic, and GIANTX at the Madrid Arena. Then, from May 10-11, Karmine Corp will welcome SK Gaming, G2, and Team Vitality at the heart of their own arena. The competition will be streamed on the official broadcast as well as through various costreams. Tickets for LoL Park in Berlin are already available for purchase.
