Jinx, Braum, Ekko, Yasuo, Darius, Ahri, and Illaoi are already known
According to several developers, 2XKO, Riot Games' upcoming fighting game, will have only 10 playable characters at launch. Shaun "Unconkable" Rivera revealed this information in a Q&A session on the game's Discord server. He reassures players by explaining that even with only 10 characters, there is already much diverse gameplay content. The game can be played solo or in tag-play mode, where two champions are used more or less simultaneously in a match. Launching the game with such a limited pool of playable characters also signals the game's imminent arrival on our consoles and the studio’s eagerness to finally release its long-awaited title.
As a reminder, the game will be free-to-play and will most likely receive frequent updates. It has also been confirmed that champions will have cosmetic skins, shedding more light on the game's business model. As of now, we know the identities of 7 out of the 10 playable characters: Jinx, Braum, Ekko, Yasuo, Darius, Ahri, and Illaoi.
More about 2XKO
This versus game aims to bring the rich universe of League of Legends into the world of tag-team fighting games. Unlike traditional one-on-one fighters, 2XKO introduces dynamic tag mechanics, allowing players to swap between characters mid-match for creative and strategic combos. You can find a long 50-minute video on their YouTube channel, where a lot of gameplay and mechanics are shown and explained by the developers themselves. They went into detail about the controls, the importance of decision-making in character selection and in-game, the visual changes made since the 2024 Alpha and demos, and even spent about fifteen minutes focusing on Jinx's gameplay.
For now, 2XKO will launch in 2025 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. More details about the full character roster, additional game modes, and monetization plans will likely be revealed in the coming months.
