Following ROSSMAN Centaurs, the Prime League is set to welcome another new team: TeamOrangeGaming (TOG). According to Sheep Esports sources, the organization—originally founded by the ratiopharm ulm basketball club before becoming independent in 2020—will compete in the top tier of the German scene next season. While TOG began their journey in the second division, the team has prior experience in the Prime League, having played during the 2021 season.

However, their initial PRM run was less than stellar, finishing 6th in the Summer and last in the Winter Split. TOG had to rebuild from scratch in 2022, starting from the third division. By 2023, they had climbed back to their original division and spent 2024 in PRM2 alongside ROSSMAN Centaurs. TOG showed promise during Spring, finishing first in the regular season before losing the grand final to Spinebusters E-Sport. Despite this success, a disappointing fifth-place finish in the Summer Split cost them a slot at the Up&Down tournament.

An Important Turnover

The Prime League is undergoing significant changes. Alongside ROSSMAN Centaurs and TeamOrangeGaming, Kaufland Hangry Knights secured their spot in the German elite through the promotion tournament, displacing MOUZ, one of the league’s historic organizations. Additionally, the former academy teams of LEC organizations Schalke 04 and SK Gaming will no longer feature in the national league next year.

These changes are likely to impact the league’s competitiveness. While the Prime League claimed the EMEA Masters championship in Spring 2024 with Eintracht Spandau, the team has since announced a shift towards an entertainment-focused roster rather than a competitive one. This could create opportunities for TOG to establish themselves as a top-tier contender shortly. However, to capitalize on this chance, the organization must assemble a roster quickly as the offseason is already well underway.
