The team is looking to improve on its past results.
Bot Laner Belan "TakeSet" Ahour and Support Batuhan "kibah" Gazier Kibar are now set to join FUT Esports in the Turkish Championship League (TCL), according to Sheep Esports sources. Despite a complicated off-season for the two players, the newly formed duo have now found a home for the coming competitive year. Sources reveal that both players have only signed for the spring split, as they are hoping to find offers for more noteworthy teams in the summer split.
A Tumultuous Off-Season
Marked by unfortunate circumstances, this off-season has not been easy on TakeSet. A star of the LFL, the 21-year-old bot laner made a name for himself last year while under the banner of Solary. Although his results may not seem impressive at first glance, the player was widely recognized to be one of the best in his respective position. After departing from his team, the Danish player received a lot of interest from many different parties.
First reaching a verbal agreement with Papara SuperMassive, TakeSet seemed set-up for success in 2024, but, unfortunately, things would soon take a turn for the worst. Coming in as a shock, sources would soon reveal that organizers of the TCL had denied the residency status of his teammate Ersin "Blue" Görenm, forcing the team to replace one of their imports.
Fate then befell TakeSet. The bot laner, who was designated as one of the most sought after players in his position, suddenly found himself without a team. Having locked his initial agreement in mid-October, the player was left with little options following his agreement being broken almost two months later at the start of December. Unable to turn back to the LFL, the bot laner then set his sight elsewhere.
Despite not having been his first option, FUT Esports is now slowly building up to be an impressive team in the coming spring split of 2024. While TakeSet only signed for a single split, the team is expected to be a top competitor in the league which could even compete with the player's former team. At this time, it is expected that TakeSet will attempt to find a home in a more noteworthy team in the Summer Split, though he could choose to stay and re-sign if FUT performs.
Proving Himself
A promising support, kibah has surpassed himself in recent times. Winning the NLC in the spring split of 2023, the player has impressed several European fans in recent times. Despite his success, the 22-year-old support has not had the easiest time in recent off-seasons.
Struck by the unfortunate news that his team, Riddle Esports, would be withdrawing from the NLC in April, the reigning champion suddenly found himself team-less. Weighting his options, the Danish support would decide not to join a new team in the summer split, as he aimed for greater heights.
Taking a break from competitive play, kibah would focus on grinding the ranked ladder, reaching the top 15 position on the European server before deciding to boot-camp in South Korea. Focusing on his personal improvement full-time, he soon showed that he was a force to be reckoned with as he reached the top 10 position within 10 days of his arrival.
Later returning to the EMEA region, kibah soon proved his potential as he joined Rebels Gaming for the Iberian Cup. Only losing to Finetwork KOI, they reached the semifinals of the tournament, beating noteworthy teams like GIANTS in the process.
Gaining the attention of several teams, sources indicate that kibah also received interest from both Movistar Riders in the SuperLiga and Karmine Corp Academy in the LFL. Now finding himself in the same situation as TakeSet, kibah is looking to prove himself once more as he joins FUT Esports for the spring split. With a one-split contract, the player is hoping to continue his recent impressive accomplishments and is hoping to be scouted by a large organization for the latter half of next year.
