Dhokla set to join NTMR in NACL OQ
For their League of Legends debut as an organization, NTMR — a US-based esports organization primarily competing in Overwatch — is set to sign toplaner Niship "Dhokla" Doshi to compete in the NACL Open Qualifiers ahead of the 2025 season, according to Sheep Esports sources. To fill open spots left by the departures of Disguised, Team Liquid, and FlyQuest amidst the LTA transition, three new teams will earn spots in the NACL through next year's open qualifier tournament — with Dhokla as their first piece, NTMR have their sights set high.
Last to find a home
In 2023, alongside Ignar, NRG's roster core pulled off a veritable Cinderella run by winning the Summer split and qualifying for the bracket stage of Worlds. In keeping with the fairy tale motif, though, the team seemed to turn into a pumpkin in 2024, seeing 5th and 6th place finishes this year. Despite an explosive start, NRG left the league on a low note, marking the end of Dhokla, Contractz, Palafox, and FBI's time competing together.
Dhokla was the last of NRG's 2024 roster to settle on his competitive future, with Contractz and Palafox set to join Shopify Rebellion, FBI rejoining 100 Thieves, and Huhi set to join Disguised.
Who are NTMR?
Established in late 2023, NTMR primarily competes in the Overwatch Champions Series, where they most recently achieved a 5th-6th place finish against NRG Shock. After completing their first full year in esports, NTMR — led by CEO Jack "Fl4k" Ketchum — are hoping to remain highly invested in the League of Legends esports scene, which will be the first of the organization's attempts to branch into titles other than Overwatch.
Esports Operators Jayden "Reverse" Naffin and Jacob "Doc" Scott operate NTMR's Valve titles, as well as any future titles — Riot or otherwise — while Jonathan “Nova” Baadsgaard will be dedicated to LoL operations as the Director of NTMR's LoL program.
By picking up a former LCS toplaner — a strong start to any offseason — NTMR are hoping to smash their way through the NACL qualifiers and earn a spot in the NACL. If all goes well, NTMR could aim to unseat Disguised from the LTAN Guest Slot by the end of the year.
