With Noah’s arrival, the GIANTX roster is starting to take shape
Europe is set to retain one of its top ADCs. Oh “Noah” Hyeon-taek, who had been allowed by Fnatic to explore opportunities with other teams, has already secured his next move. He will remain in the LEC, having reached a verbal agreement with GIANTX for the upcoming season of the LEC, the League of Legends EMEA elite, sources told Sheep Esports on Thursday. Rogue was also interested in Noah, but the LEC team couldn't make an offer in time due to their current situation with the continuity of the spot.
This signing is great news for Noah, who had previously blamed himself as the main reason for Fnatic’s three losses in the 2024 LEC finals against G2 Esports. He also took the heat as the scapegoat for Fnatic’s international underperformance. However, during his time with Fnatic, he gained a lot of experience and established himself as one of the top AD Carries in the league.
At 23 years old, Noah solidified his spot as an irreplaceable starter in a Tier 1 league with the Black and Orange after joining in the 2023 Summer Split. He stepped in to replace the team’s most iconic player, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, as Fnatic were enduring their worst year ever through the first two splits. His arrival, alongside Adrian “Trymbi” Trybus, completely shifted the team’s dynamic, helping them secure third place in Summer and second at the 2023 Season Finals.
An aggressive playstyle
Noah’s forward-thinking playstyle and willingness to create opportunities in the laning phase brought a fresh aggressiveness to Fnatic, which had become too passive in the early game. While his risky plays didn’t always succeed, his proactive approach helped Fnatic regain their lost edge. Off the Rift, Noah also injected fresh energy into the fanbase, thanks to his active presence on social media and banter, offering a new face and vibe that the supporters had been craving.
Noah’s aggressive carry mentality was shaped early in his career at KT Rolster. He joined the academy in September 2020, progressed to the Challengers team, and played for the main LCK roster throughout 2021, competing in around 40 games. Despite limited results, he moved to the Ultraliga, winning his first split with Zero Tenacity, making an instant impact that caught Fnatic’s attention in mid-2023.
While Noah’s trophy cabinet includes just an LCK Academy Series title (October 2020) and an Ultraliga championship (Spring 2023), he has earned a strong reputation in Europe. In just a year and a half, he’s consistently been regarded as one of the top three AD Carries in the league. He’s reached four LEC finals with Fnatic, though he hasn’t won any of them yet. It remains to be seen how he will handle the pressure in a new environment.
A solid pickup for GIANTX
Even though he didn’t win any titles with Fnatic this year, Noah had a solid season on home turf. Paired with Yoon “Jun” Se-jun to form a formidable Korean duo, they frequently dominated the competition together. Rated 68/100 on Sheep Stats, Noah holds the second-highest score for an AD Carry this season. Unsurprisingly, he also leads as the botlaner with the highest average damage per minute (731.73) and has the highest average kills per game (5.81) across all roles. Additionally, he ranks second in assists for an ADC, with an average of 5.74 assists per game.
Noah joins a GIANTX roster that looks promising. Following the reported verbal agreement of André “Guilhoto” Pereira Guilhoto as Head Coach by Sheep Esports and the highly promising young midlaner Adam "Jackies" Jeřábek, who is already signed until the end of 2026, GIANTX secured their second player. The team is now laying the foundation for a roster that could attract more top-tier players. Known players on the roster so far are:
- Top: ?
- Jungle: ?
- Mid: Adam "Jackies" Jeřábek
- ADC: Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek
- Support: ?
