OKSavingsBank BRION finally picked up its first win in LCK Round 1-2 against DN Freecs. The return of Ham "HamBak" Yoo-jin was noticeable, and Lee "Clozer" Ju-hyeon earned the MVP title in a fairly average BO3. Meanwhile, Gen.G comfortably dominated Nongshim RedForce, joining Dplus KIA at the top of the standings. Joo "Duro" Min-kyu was named MVP of the game.

BRO, finally!

After three losses in as many games, the fourth was the charm for the BRION, as they secured their first win of the split with a 2-1 victory over DN Freecs. While the series wasn’t the most thrilling, the win was a much-needed boost for the team, as they beat a direct competitor. DN Freecs, on the other hand, has not tasted victory since January 15th during the LCK Cup.

The first game was won by the Freecs, with Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol and Kim "Life" Jeong-min completely dominating. Berserker finished 8/0/4 on Caitlyn, while Life ended 1/1/11 on Karma. The second game also revolved around the botlane, but this time it was Byeon "Hype" Jeong-hyeon and Oh "Pollu" Dong-gyu who took control of the match. Pollu put up an impressive 0/0/14 performance, and with more than 93% winrate on his AD Carry, they managed to bring the game to a tie.

The final game took a while to see its first kill, but the eleven kills of the game were almost all on the side of BRO. Clozer had a solid Sylas performance, and the few fights that did break out allowed the BRION to seal the win, claiming their first victory of the split.

Gen.G climbs to first place in the standings

The second BO of the day was a short one — in under an hour, Gen.G made quick work of Nongshim, showcasing the clear gap in individual level across the map. Game 1 was decided early, with Kim "Kiin" Gi-in solo-killing Hwang "Kingen" Seong-hoon, who had locked in Diana top — a pick that hadn’t been seen in the LCK toplane since 2013. The gamble didn’t pay off for the 2022 World Champion. Meanwhile, on the bot side, Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk and Joo "Duro" Min-kyu dominated the lane, fully exploiting the favorable draft they were given.

Game 2 followed a similar pattern, with Gen.G’s botlane once again taking over. Ruler and Duro remained deathless and played a key role in teamfights. Duro’s Alistar engages were particularly impactful, earning him a well-deserved MVP for the match.

Gen.G’s clean, composed performance lifts them to the top of the standings alongside Dplus KIA. Tomorrow's matches will see other title contenders fight each other as T1 is facing Hanwha Life Esports, followed by KT Rolster fighting against BNK FEARX.
