Fakegod Tomio Tactical Dayos set to join LG
Toplaner Aaron "FakeGod" Lee, jungler Tomio Phanlith "Tomio" Chan, and botlaner Edward "Tactical" Ra are set to join Luminosity Gaming for the 2025 NACL season, according to sources close to Sheep Esports. Luminosity is also set to acquire coach Mervin-Angelo "Dayos" Lachica, who most recently coached Winthrop University’s NACL team during the summer split.
A powerful roster on paper
In 2023, FakeGod, Tomio, and Zeyzal swept both NACL splits — under different banners — winning back-to-back trophies despite switching out their carry players between splits. With Young and Meech, the trio's mid and ADC on DSG, swapped for Insanity and Tactical, Luminosity has created a roster aiming to promote into the LTA.
All five players might lack recent success in the LCS, but LG's roster construction philosophy is simple: prove the existence of a gap between Tier 1 and 2 League of Legends. To put things into perspective, being viewed as a mid-to-low tier player in the LCS should theoretically put a player in the regional top 10 for their role. A bottom team in the LCS — four out of five of these players finished 7th in both splits this year — should be expected to cruise their way into the 2025 LTA Promotion Tournament.
In the end, though, nothing is guaranteed. NACL and Academy lineups comprised mostly or entirely of former LCS players have been far from infallible in Tier 2 play. This roster is sure to be a contender, but with organizations like Dragonsteel and Cincinnati Fear leveraging their experience in the NACL — and in the esport as a whole — LG's strength on paper won't be enough to guarantee a trophy.
