No intra-regional matchup was possible in the first round
Now things get serious. The League of Legends Worlds 2024 Play-In stage has concluded on Sunday, with Mad Lions KOI, GAM, paiN Gaming, and PSG Talon earning their spots in the main event. With the elimination rounds behind us, Riot Games hosted the Swiss Stage Draw Show to determine the first matchups.
As a reminder, a total of 16 teams will clash between each other to determine who is going to qualify to the knockout stage. The format consists of five rounds, with no rematches allowed. Teams advance to the Knockouts after three wins, while teams with three losses are eliminated. Qualification and elimination matches are played in best of three, while all other matches are played in best of one.
In the first round, we will have:
- Bilibili Gaming - Mad Lions KOI
- Top Esports - T1
- Gen.G - Weibo Gaming
- Fnatic - Dplus KIA
- Team Liquid - LNG Esports
- Hanwha Life Esports - PSG Talon
- FlyQuest - GAM
- G2 Esports - paiN Gaming
These highly anticipated clashes between the world’s top teams will kick off this Thursday at 14:00 CET.
