Eintracht Spandau hopes to reach the playoffs by bringing in Santorin to replace jokaa
Eintracht Spandau announced the signing of their new jungler, Lucas "Santorin" Larsen, for the remainder of the Prime League split. As a result, Jordan "jokaa" Ochs has been benched. The organization acknowledged the uncomfortable situation for their previous jungler, but stated that something needed to be done. They hope this move will give them a chance to reach the playoffs, despite the very difficult position they currently find themselves in.
Three Bo3s to save the split
After their victory at the EMEA Masters Spring 2024, and a disappointing summer, Eintracht Spandau started 2025 with results that haven't matched their previous success. A new roster was built around midlaner Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage, who remained with the team alongside support Philipp Samuel "Lilipp" Englert. Mahdi "Pride" Nasserzadeh joined the toplane, and jokaa was brought in as jungle, with Daniel "Broeki" Broekmann completing the botlane. Despite the wealth of experience in the lineup, they failed to reach the Winter playoffs, finishing last in their group. The team decided to continue with the same roster for the Winter split, giving them another chance, but the current situation has been concerning, with EINS sitting 9th in the Prime League, having earned only one win to their five losses.
With just three matches left to try and secure a playoff spot, the situation is looking dire, but the organization believes it is still possible. They have also indicated that several positions might need review, but only the jungle role was changed. By bringing in Santorin, they are hoping to bring stability to the team, relying on his experience to turn things around. This change is aimed at keeping their hopes of reaching the playoffs alive. The team will face Eintracht Frankfurt today, the only team behind them in the standings, and will field Santorin in this crucial match. They will then face Austrian Force willhaben, and E WIE EINFACH E-SPORTS, who are also not in a favorable position and are in direct competition with EINS for a playoff spot.
A long and storied career
With nearly twelve years of experience, Santorin will undoubtedly bring even more veteran presence and skill to the roster. The Danish jungler has spent the majority of his career in North America, playing for iconic teams such as TSM, NRG Esports, Team Liquid, Dignitas, and FlyQuest. His list of jerseys is long, and the experience he's gained is immense. Santorin has also competed in numerous international events. Notably, he previously played alongside his current midlaner, PowerOfEvil, at FlyQuest. Together, they finished second in both the Spring and Summer Splits of 2020, and qualified for Worlds, where they failed to make it out of a tough group featuring Top Esports, DRX, and Unicorns of Love.
Santorin has occasionally returned to Europe throughout his career. He first played for Huma during the EUCS 2016 Spring Split, then joined H2K Gaming for the EU LCS 2018 Spring Split. More recently, he competed in the NLC with NORD Esports, reaching the finals of the 2025 Winter Split before falling short against Los Ratones.
