Vitality, Heretics, MKOI and Fnatic featured in the Team of the Week
The fifth week of the LEC has wrapped up after an exciting stretch featuring two days of roadshow matches in Madrid, followed by a return to the Berlin studio for the final day. Movistar KOI were the standout performers of the week, securing convincing wins over both Fnatic and GIANTX, and making a strong statement heading into the final stretch of the regular season. In contrast, G2 Esports struggled, falling to both GX and Fnatic in a rare winless weekend for the Samurai. The week concluded with Team Heretics bouncing back to take down SK Gaming, while Team Vitality managed to get the better of BDS, adding some much-needed points to their tally.
The Sheep Esports' LEC Team of the Week features Kaan "Naak Nako" Okan in the toplane, Javier "Elyoya" Prades in the jungle, Kamil "Kamiloo" Haudegond in midlane, with Elias "Upset" Lipp and Álvaro "Alvaro" Fernández del Amo joining forces in the botlane. Elyoya stood out in particular during the Road Show, making him our Most Valuable Player of the week.
Top: Naak Nako
Vitality's victory largely came through the toplane on this matchday, especially in Game 1 where the Turkish player completely dominated on Rumble, both in the game and against his lane opponent. With over 32,000 damage and a 9/2/7 scoreline, Naak Nako paved the way for Vitality's win. In Game 2, despite the loss, he held his own with Yone — a champion he's steadily building a solid reputation on. The final game on Aatrox was a tough one for Vitality, but they still managed to snatch the win thanks to a miraculous last teamfight around Baron Nashor.
Jungle: Elyoya (MVP)
It was an emotional and highly successful week for the Spanish captain. The first best-of-three against Fnatic was a rollercoaster for KOI. In Game 1, Elyoya played Naafiri and gave everything to keep his team in the game, finishing with 100% kill participation despite the loss. The final game was incredibly tense — Fnatic had control from start to finish and were literally one auto attack away from destroying the Nexus, but KOI pulled off a miraculous defense and turned the game around to take the series. The following day, against GIANTX and still playing in front of his home crowd, Elyoya delivered a masterclass on Vi in Game 1, participating in 17 of his team’s kills. The rest of the series wasn’t particularly exciting, but overall, it was a truly strong showing from Elyoya.
Mid: Kamiloo
Kamiloo's performances in the LEC keep improving, and so do Heretics'. After beating Vitality last week, it was SK who fell this time — a Game 1 on Taliyah where he showcased his creativity, followed by a second game on Azir where the rookie showed off his damage to help Heretics secure a much-needed win. The French player is adapting better and better to the European top level and surely hasn’t finished making headlines.
ADC: Upset
A third appearance in our Team of the Week for Upset, his second in a row — and for good reason. The German AD carry has been an absolute beast since the start of the year. After a strong Winter Split, he continues to perform at a high level. Despite the loss in the first series against KOI, Upset was one of the team’s reliable players. He currently has the best KDA in the league after five weeks of play, with a scoreline of 102/15/106, and dies on average half as often as other ADCs. He was also decisive in the series against G2, during which Fnatic won their first BO3 against G2 since 2017 — in the two games Fnatic won, he posted a combined score of 16/0/18, reflecting near-perfect positioning and exceptional control.
Support: Alvaro
The Upset–Alvaro botlane was already in our Team of the Week in the second week of the split, and here they are again. Alvaro’s weekend in front of his home crowd was a major highlight — he played the same three champions (Rell, Rakan, and Neeko) in the same order. His first game on Rell against GIANTX was one of the best of the weekend, participating in 23 of his team’s 25 kills. The Spanish support also held his own against the Fnatic botlane, which is no mean feat given their current performance. Week after week, Alvaro continues to impress and is establishing himself as one of KOI’s most reliable assets.
