28 kills in just 40 minutes—RustySniper was anything but rusty, securing the highest kill count in NLC history
This Thursday, February 6, Rahand "RustySniper" Akram made history in the NLC. In the second game of a BO5 elimination match against Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski's Ruddy Sack, Lundqvist Lightside's AD Carry was given Jhin. He dominated the game, finishing with an incredible 28/5/11 scoreline. He became the player scoring the highest-ever recorded number of kills in an NLC game. Yet, the game lasted only 40 minutes, and the player secured just 321 CS, seemingly too focused on dominating team fights and crushing his opponents.
He came just two kills short of the bloodiest game ever recorded in an ERL, a record set by Apostolis "Druxy" Kabosos on Kalista during the GL2D Spring 2024. However, he did manage to tie the record for the highest kill count in an international game, set at MSI 2024 by Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan, who also secured 28 kills and a pentakill with his Kalista while playing for Gen.G in the grand final against Bilibili Gaming.
In the meantime, Ruddy Sack secured the victory and ultimately defeated Lundqvist Lightside 3-1 in the BO, eliminating them from the NLC Winter 2025 playoffs.
