MAD, BDS and Fnatic have ensured their presence for the LEC Season Finals
Out of the six spots opened for the LEC Season Finals, which gives out two qualifying slots for the World Championship, four are already decided as of this week : G2 Esports, Fnatic, MAD Lions KOI (MDK) and Team BDS are indeed qualified for the last step of the EMEA League of Legends circuit. G2 were already qualified far long ago as the winner of both the Winter and Spring split as reported previously. They are now rejoined by Fnatic, who secured a spot by making sure they would reach the top 3 of the Summer Playoffs, as well as MDK and BDS, who are secured by Championship points.
MDK's second place in Winter secures them the spot
Despite poor results in Spring (6th place), MDK's impressive run in Winter has granted them enough points to guarantee a position in LEC Season Finals. The spanish squad currently has 200 points minimum, which is enough for them to remain on the top 2 of the championship points (exluding teams that qualify differently like FNC or G2).
BDS' consistency is also rewarded by a qualification via Championship Points, even if the swiss team hopes to make a deep run in playoffs, they are ensured to play in the Season Finals. The full Championship Point table is for now the following :
As for the other teams, Karmine Corp are in a must-win situation, failing to reach the top 3 would mean early vacation for the Blue Wall. GiantX could be qualified with a 4th place if the stars align. SK Gaming and Team Heretics positions are slightly more comfortable, since both could still go through without winning any other game, as long as neither KC nor GX make a deep run.
