NRG had also expressed an interest for the Duelist
A world champion joins G2 Esports. According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Alexander “jawgemo” Mor has reached a verbal agreement to join the Samurais in VCT Americas. Finalist at Masters: Tokyo and, above all, winner of the VALORANT Champions 2023 with Evil Geniuses, the Duelist was the only player to stay with EG in 2024.
He had a more difficult season there, finishing 7th in both North American elite Stages. However, Jawgemo was approached by several teams during the offseason. In particular, NRG had expressed an interest, but the Cambodian player ultimately joined G2.G2 had different options as duelist, including Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev , but they finally decided to close Jawgemo over all the options.
G2 in search of the player to win titles
During their first year in the VCT Americas and with a roster built around three former players from The Guard, G2 performed well but failed to secure their first title. The Samurais lost in the final of both Stages that year: to 100 Thieves in the final of Stage 1 and to Leviatan in the final of Stage 2. The German club, which played in VCT EMEA in 2021 and 2022, returned to international competition this year. Third at Masters: Shanghai, G2 was eliminated from Champions 2024 by its biggest League of Legends rival, Fnatic. G2 had thus finished in 7th place at the VALORANT Worlds.
