The duo that joined Golden Guardians in the LCS returns to compete together.
Jungler Milo "Pridestalkr" Wehnes and Support Morgan "Hustlin" Granberg have reached a verbal agreement with FC Barcelona to join their esports team and compete in the LVP SuperLiga, according to sources close to Sheep Esports on Sunday. This move will mark Hustlin's return to professional play as a starting player.
FC Barcelona's challenging off-season
This year, FC Barcelona faced a challenging off-season. Despite having the desire of assembling a team as competitive as possible, the team has reportedly struggled to find players fitting its budget.
As reported last month via blix.gg, Barça made their first move of the off-season by reaching an agreement with coach Alejandro "Jandro" Fernández-Valdés Pedrosa. According to sources close to Sheep Esports, the coach initially wished to stay with Astralis for the upcoming season but indicated to FC Barcelona that he'd join if Astralis left the LEC, as rumored. While sources indicate that je had to decide before knowing Astralis's spot's fate, Karmine Corp's later acquisition of Astralis' spot would have left the coach with no LEC options regardless of his decision.
Per sources, FC Barcelona initially began their off-season by attempting to secure Aslan "White" Panglose. Despite initially being on track to reach an agreement with the French jungler, Barça would find themselves out of luck as jungler Ismaïl "Isma" Boualem, who initially found an agreement with Gentle Mates, was offered an LEC spot with SK Gaming. Due to this, Gentle Mates then reached out to and found an agreement to field White in their roster, leaving the FC Barcelona without a jungler.
Following these twists, FC Barcelona considered the possibility of signing Pridestalkr and Hustlin, who had previously competed together with the Golden Guardians in the LCS. They would eventually reach agreements with both players as reported today via Sheep Esports.
Pridestalkr and Hustlin
Pridestalkr, a highly esteemed jungler, boasts an impressive track record with teams such as Schalke 04, Team ROCCAT, MOUZ, and more. Notably, he spent the entire 2022 season with the Golden Guardians, an LCS team. His most recent stint was with BK ROG Esports in the LFL, where they secured second place in the summer split but lost the final to Karmine Corp.
On the other hand, Hustlin has had notable tenures with teams like Vitality.Bee and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Like Pridestalkr, he gained recognition during his time with the Golden Guardians, initially serving as an assistant coach. During this period, he also had to step in as support for the Golden Guardians' academy team.
