Swiss Top Laner is making his first entry in the LFL!
Top Laner Mahdi "Pride" Nasserzadeh has reached a verbal agreement with GameWard in the LFL, according to Sheep Esports sources. In past splits, Pride previously reached EMEA Masters Grand Finals with Fnatic Rising and was awarded the title of Prime League MVP in spring of 2022.
Bringing Leadership to GameWard
Hailing from Switzerland, Pride is one of the Prime League's most storied top laners. Having competed under Eintracht Spandau's banner for the past two years, he is among the longest-standing members of the Prime League. With this move, the veteran player will be joining a new ERL for the first time since 2021.
Before his time with EINS, Pride competed in the NLC for Fnatic Rising. During his tenure with FNC, he reached the EMEA Masters Grand Finals in the summer split of 2021, narrowly losing to Karmine Corp with a score of 2:3.
Since then, EINS and Pride have only attended EMEA Masters once, in the spring of 2022. In recent times, the team has struggled to meet fan expectations, with their only notable performance being a 3rd-place finish in the summer of this year, narrowly missing a return to the EMEA Masters.
Earlier this month, GameWard also secured Matias "Matiaslaclasse" Manchin-Opheltes and Pierre "Steeelback" Medjaldi onto their 2024 roster to fill in their bot lane. The three players will also be joined by head coach Benjamin "Fara" Stoffel.
Following this new acquisition, the future of GameWard's previous top laner, Lucas "Badlulu" Piochaud, is currently uncertain. As reported by Sheep Esports, the young French top laner was in the running to join Karmine Corp Academy and Team GO, but he missed out on both opportunities.
