Miniduke returns to pro play after a year of hiatus.
Mid Laner Ismael "Miniduke" Martínez Cortés has reached a verbal agreement with the Zaragoza-based organization ZETA, who were just reported to be joining the LVP SuperLiga 1st Division, according to Sheep Esports sources. The Spanish player is set to be the first addition to ZETA's new Superliga roster and fill its mid lane position.
Miniduke Returns to SuperLiga
Miniduke, a well-known mid laner in Spain, has played for various Spanish teams, including Team Heretics, Movistar Riders, CreamReal Betis, and Case Esports. Among his past teams, he shone the brightest during his tenure with Vodafone Giants, with whom he won the LVP SL 2021 Summer. Later, with Case Esports, Miniduke and his teammates secured victory in the SuperLiga Segunda División, although they couldn't secure promotion in 2022.
In 2023, Miniduke has not competed professionally, but he has been part of the "Factor K" team, alongside Send0o, ElOjoNinja, Shiro, and Skain. He is now set to return to the top division of the SuperLiga, where he has not competed since 2021.
A Spot in the First Division
As reported earlier, ZETA has successfully acquired a spot in the Primera División of the Spanish League of Legends ERL, better known as the LVP's SuperLiga. Currently, few pieces of this project have been confirmed, and sources close to Sheep Esports can only reliably confirm Miniduke in the organization's roster.
In past years, the team competed in the ERL's secondary division, in which they achieved decent results but failed to qualify for promotion through natural means. Prior to their involvement there, they were most known for dominance performances in the Circuito Tormenta. At the time of writing this article, the team is set to be the first to be promoted all the way from the grassroot scene to the main division of the SuperLiga.
