Jonas “Memento” Elmarghichi is set to join G2 Esports as Assistant Coach, according to Sheep Esports sources. In fact, he has been working for a few months with the LEC champions and in particular with their former jungler Martin "Yike" Sundelin, as a positional coach. With this addition, G2 further strengthen their coaching staff, while their roster is already complete with Sergen "BrokenBlade" Celik, Rudy "SkewMond" Semaan, Rasmus "Caps" Winther, Steven "Hans Sama" Liv, and Labros "Labrov" Papoutsakis.

A wealth of experience

Memento arrives at G2 Esports with a lot of experience in its baggage. Indeed, before starting his career as a coach, he was a jungler and played in LEC and EU LCS for teams such as Giants, Schalke 04, and Roccat. He played alongside such well-known names as Elias "Upset" Lipp, Marc "Caedrel" Lamont, Felix "Abbedagge" Braun, Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun, Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu or... Dylan Falco, G2's Head Coach.

He also spent time in the LFL with Vitality.Bee, GameWard and Mirage Elyandra. This experience was put to good use when he made the switch to coaching and joined NORD Esports coaching staff last season. Memento could also have been in an LFL team since Gentle Mates were interested in bringing him as an Assistant Coach, according to Sheep Esports sources.
