The Blue Wall is closer than ever to the LEC
Karmine Corp's CEO, Kamel "Kameto" Kebir, announced last September at the KCX3 that the French organization was closer than ever to join the LEC. Sources have told Sheep Esports more details about the deal that's in the works for the Blue Wall.
Almost one month after the announcement, Karmine Corp are still on good track to join the LEC. At this stage, Karmine Corp still have many steps to complete and no deal has been signed. However, the organization is likely to join the LEC.
Contrary to some fan speculations, Karmine Corp are not trying to merge with another LEC team. Instead, they are in discussions to buy a spot with money earned through fundraising. Astralis is the team in discussions with Karmine Corp as they're looking to exit the league. They were already in discussions with the French organization last year, however negotiations are much more advanced between both parties this time.
In case of joining the LEC, Karmine Corp would want to build a competitive secondary team in the LFL. Bot laner Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert would be the main player as the young prodigy wouldn't be able to play in the LEC due to his age of 17. The minimum age requirement for players to compete to the LEC will be raised to 18, as reported by Sheep Esports.
Karmine Corp might not be the only organization to join the LEC next year as both Giants Gaming and Movistar Riders are also in talks with LEC organizations. However, those talks are held with other LEC teams than Astralis.
