With three new recruits and a complete coaching staff, Zerance finalized their 2025 roster
Zerance have completed their 2025 roster, sources tell Sheep Esports on Thursday. They are doing so with the ambition to reach the top while focusing on developing tomorrow's stars. With the midlane and support roles already filled, the team has added Sylvain "IhY0" Barbier as toplaner, Norman "nrmn" Richard as ADC, and re-signed Théo "Krimson" Haussin in the jungle.
The 2024 season marked Zerance's debut in LFL Division 2. After a promising Spring Split, the team faltered in the Summer Split, finishing last in the league. However, the club ended the season on a high note by defeating Joblife in the first round of the Coupe de France, before being eliminated by Vitality.Bee.
Greatness from small beginnings
IhY0, Krimson, and nrmn began their journey together at the Tony Parker Adequat Academy (TPAA) in 2023. During their time there, they secured two victories in the Nexus Tour (the third tier of national competition) and finished second overall in the season points standings. However, TPAA did not participate in the playoffs, forfeiting their slot and some of their players... to Zerance. IhY0 and Krimson have therefore already played together under Zerance's banner — but not nrmn, who did not compete in the playoffs. While the toplaner took a break in 2024, Krimson stayed with Zerance that year, making this his third consecutive season with the club.
Despite being benched during the Summer Split, Krimson reclaimed a starting role for the Coupe de France and will continue as the team’s jungler for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, nrmn is no stranger to Nexus Tour podiums. This year, he notably finished second in the competition with HUGE Esport and even participated in the LFL Division 2 Up&Down tournament. Although he failed to secure a promotion to the higher tier through that event, nrmn’s performance earned him recognition and a shot in the LFL’s second division.
These three French players are still relatively unknown and will be joined by another promising young talent. Rookie Alix, an 18-year-old, comes off an excellent year in the NLC with Ruddy Esports, where he placed second in the Summer Split and competed in the EMEA Masters. Zerance have opted for an experienced support player to guide this youthful lineup. Seal, however, will debut in the French circuit after dominating the ESLOL this year and playing for Schalke 04 in the Prime League in 2023.
Investing in Coaching
Zerance have invested heavily in their coaching staff comprising four members to develop their players. Leading the charge is head coach Gregory "Kami" Schmit, who had a strong year with Glore in the HitPoint Masters, even reaching the Play-Ins of the Spring Split EMEA Masters. Kami will be supported by Christoffer "Trap" Nielsen as assistant coach, returning to Division 2 after working with Esprit Shonen in Spring, Simon "Biimsaa" Sørensen as positional coach, and Guildiz as an analyst.
