Execute has already played in the LEC with Astralis, under the name of JeongHoon
After a challenging year in the LCK, Lee "Execute" Jeong-hoon (formerly known as JeongHoon) is set to return to the LEC. Per Sheep Esports sources, the Korean support has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to play for Rogue — or whichever organization acquires their franchise slot — in the LEC next year.
Rogue looked at multiple supports for the position, most of whom opted to go elsewhere due to their inability to make offers at the time. The organization first looked at Jeong "Moham" Jae-hun, who is likely headed to the LPL instead. Yoon "Jun" Se-jun was also another option but he is set follow Noah to GIANTX. Another consideration was Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun but was ultimately passed up in favor of Execute.
It’s important to note that this verbal agreement, along with those involving other players, does not depend on Rogue completing their sale — Rogue are aiming to sell their entire organization, not just their LEC slot.
A new name with familiar talent
With this agreement, Execute will return to the pinnacle of EMEA League of Legends, where he impressed fans with his mechanics during his stint with Astralis in 2023. He began his career in the Korean circuit, debuting in the Challengers scene in 2020 after winning a promotion tournament at the end of 2019. He spent the entire 2021 season with BRION Challengers, but the team never found success. In 2022 Summer, he joined Astralis' LEC roster — despite a 9th-place finish that split, he was retained for the following year due to his exceptional mechanical skill, which was remarkable even compared to the region's best supports.
Astralis showed promise in Spring, notably taking a Bo3 victory against Fnatic and building an aggressive playstyle centered around Adam "LIDER" Ilyasov in the midlane. While they didn’t achieve major success, Execute left a lasting impression and secured himself a spot in the LCK with FearX for 2024.
However, his debut in the LCK — widely considered the best league in the world — proved challenging. After finishing 7th in the Spring Split, Execute was replaced by Joo "Duro" Min-kyu after playing only five BO3s in the Summer Split. He then transitioned to the LCK CL, where he helped the team secure a 5th-place finish but was ultimately reverse-swept by a popular T1 Academy roster featuring Martin "Rekkles" Larsson.
LEC's offseason is almost finished
Execute’s return to the LEC may come as a surprise to many, but he could once again defy expectations and establish himself as one of the league’s top supports — or at the very least, deliver some thrilling performances on his signature Pyke. For now, he’ll be teaming up with veteran ADC Patrik "Patrik" Jírů, as well as the famously aggressive toplaner Adam "Adam" Maanane. Their synergy could prove devastating if they manage to take the lead in fast-paced, skirmish-heavy games.
Additionally, Emil "Larssen" Larsson remains a cornerstone in the midlane and is expected to adapt his playstyle to the new roster around him. With just a jungler left to sign, Rogue are close to wrapping up their offseason and finalizing a roster poised to be a threat next year.
Rogue’s 2025 reported roster:
- Top: Adam "Adam" Maanane
- Jungle: ?
- Mid: Emil "Larssen" Larsson
- ADC: Patrik "Patrik" Jírů
- Support: Lee "Execute" Jeong-hoon
