SK Gaming locked the LEC team
French AD Carry Thomas "Exakick" Foucou and Danish Support Mads “Doss” Schwartz have reached a verbal agreement with SK Gaming to remain with the organization for the upcoming LoL EMEA Championship (LEC) season.
This move is significant because LFL teams such as Karmine Corp Academy and Team BDS Academy were waiting on the support player to possibly join their team. Additionally, in a market where many supports are competing for few places in the LEC, Doss remaining with SK reduces the amount of spots even further. Only four LEC teams are left without supports for around nine possible candidates.
Exakick staying isn't the biggest news as he already was under contract, but SK were considering replacements for a bit. This will be the third year between Exakick and Doss and this move also guarentees botlane synergy in SK Gaming's new roster.
Both players offered their services to SK Gaming in 2023, where they achieved mixed results in the LEC. The team finished the LEC 2023 Season Finals in sixth place after losing to the dominant Team BDS. SK Gaming's highest achievement during the 2023 season occurred in the Winter Split, where the team secured a third-place finish during the regular split and a fourth place during the Winter Playoffs.
The team is now complete
For SK Gaming, this means that the planning stage of their starting roster is now over. The team had already secured verbal agreements with midlaner Yasin "Nisqy" Dinçer, formerly with MAD Lions, and jungler Ismaïl "Isma" Boualem, formerly with Movistar Riders, earlier this offseason. With this team, the organization is attempting to climb back to old heights after a recent stint in the LEC with lacking successes.
