Disguised Toast's esports team is moving from the NACL to Tier 1.
Disguised is set to compete in the Americas North Conference next year, according to sources close to Sheep Esports. With their Americas guest slot, they will compete in the North Conference for the 2025 season — however, they must defend their spot in a relegation tournament against the best Tier 2 NA teams at the end of the year.
Riot was looking to give the NACL guest slot to a stable organization for the new system's debut — a competitive, financially stable, and reliable partner moving forward. Since Riot can still deny teams from promotion into Tier 1 leagues if they don't consider them good partners, as they have done in VCT in the past, DSG was the reasonable choice — a relatively large, stable, brand-friendly organization with an impressive growth trajectory.
The team has already been in conversations with players in the offseason and is in the process of building their roster.
DSG is an esports organization founded in early 2023 by popular content creator Jeremy "Disguised Toast" Wang. Initially competing in the NA VCT Challengers circuit in the hopes of earning Ascension, DSG acquired an NACL slot ahead of the 2023 Summer split. With a team built from the core of a dominant Cloud9 Challengers roster, DSG won the NACL trophy in their first split.
DSG's arrival to the North conference comes off the heels of the creation of the 'Americas League,' merging the LCS, CBLOL, and LLA to more closely match Americas region of the VALORANT Champions Tour, except with North and South Conferences. The various Tier 2 leagues will be reorganized into a circuit that feeds into the Tier 1 conferences.
Tier 2
NACL and CBLOL Academy will mostly remain the same, while LLA tier 2 will be split into two leagues: Liga Regional Norte (LRN) and Liga Regional Sur (LRS). NACL and LRN will compete in one promotion tournament to qualify for the North Conference while CBLOL Academy and LRS will face off for the South Conference.
Regardless of their performance this year, DSG will have to defend their spot in the North Conference against the best team from the NA Tier 2 scene — if they fail, they'll return to the NACL to compete for a chance to earn their spot back.
