After two years with BLG, Xun joins JDG, stepping into the shoes of Kanavi, the star player of the organization
JD Gaming have just secured the final piece of their puzzle. On Monday, the organization officially announced their new jungler, Peng "Xun" Li-Xun, fresh off a Worlds finals appearance with Bilibili Gaming. This marks the end of an era as they part ways with Seo "Kanavi" Jin-hyeok, one of the club's cornerstones over the past years. With this move, JDG leave no doubt about their ambition of reclaiming the top spot in the LPL.
The best jungler in the LPL?
Announced as leaving Bilibili Gaming in late November and the only player from their roster to part ways with the organization, the 22-year-old prodigy has found a new home with a project aiming for the top of the LPL. Xun is coming off an incredible 2024 season, marked by two LPL titles and two international finals at MSI and Worlds. However, his year was anything but smooth. Despite being dominant, Yan "Wei" Yang-Wei was brought onto the roster mid-year and took the starting spot during the Summer Split. Benched during that time, Xun made a dramatic return at Worlds when BLG faced elimination in the Swiss Stage. Reinstated as the starting jungler with the team at 1-2, he restored confidence within the squad and helped lead them to the tournament finals.
Renowned for his ever-positive behavior, Xun has a reputation for transforming teams by fostering strong cohesion both in-game and outside of it. Starting his professional career in the LDL in 2020, where he became Summer Split champion, Xun moved to the LPL in 2021 with Invictus Gaming, where he spent two years before joining BLG for another two. Now, he embarks on a new chapter, carrying lofty expectations as he is regarded as potentially the best jungler in the LPL. Xun will need to shine within a new roster assembled with one goal in mind: winning it all.
Ambition is key
Ambition. This is the word that best defines JDG's new roster for 2025. After a challenging year, the organization, which was still at the pinnacle of the LPL in 2023, has opted for a near-complete rebuild, parting ways with almost all of its core players. Retaining only their support, Lou "MISSING" Yunfeng, JDG have replaced their iconic mid-jungle duo with Xun and Lee "Scout" Ye-chan, two high-potential stars.
The team also managed to secure Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan, who is gearing up for his debut season in the LPL and added Hu "Ale" Jia-Le, fresh off a stellar year with Anyone’s Legend. With this revamped lineup, JDG is setting its sights on reclaiming dominance in the LPL.
