This is the first time Riot release champions from Arcane to the game
It has been leaked that Mel Medarda should be League of Legends' first new champion in 2025. Based on a leaked HUD image, it’s likely that the champion will be a long-range mage. For some background, Mel is a Noxian aristocrat living in Piltover, where she serves on the ruling council. Disowned by her clan, Mel’s political ambitions and decisions have profoundly shaped Piltover’s future.
She first appeared in the first season of Arcane, which sparked early speculation about her potential as a playable champion. This may now become a reality with her release in early 2025. So far, there has been no official announcement from Riot Games regarding Mel Medarda, and neither a confirmed release date for the champion nor details about her abilities
Before her, another character from Arcane is set to join the game later this year: Ambessa Medarda, a Noxian warlord and Mel's mother, seemingly designed as a bruiser toplaner. Her release is expected to coincide with the launch of Arcane's second season, with the first episodes available right after the Worlds 2024 finals on November 2nd.
