CFO secured victory in Game 1 just 40 seconds after a 45 minutes pause
CTBC Flying Oyster's entry into the LCP Split 1 playoffs was marked by an unusual incident. In the opening round of the BO3 against GAM Esports, toplaner Hsu “Rest” Shih-chieh encountered a technical issue while playing K'Sante. In the 26th minute, following a teamfight won by his team, the Taiwanese player found himself unable to auto-attack. As a result, the game was paused just as CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) moved to secure Baron Nashor with a lead of over 8,000 gold. The game did not resume until 45 minutes later... without the issue being resolved.
When the match finally continued, CFO pushed the botlane, where Rest was indeed still unable to auto-attack a GAM ward near the T3. Despite this, he managed to participate in the fight using his abilities, and the problem appeared to have subsided when CFO, who logically won this fight, advanced toward the opposing Nexus. Rest was therefore able to help take down both T4. However, the bug seemed to return when it came to bringing down the opposing base, as the toplaner was again unable to auto-attack. Regardless, CFO secured victory in Game 1 just 40 seconds after the lengthy delay, overcoming the technical issue affecting one of their players.
K'Sante disabled?
The entirety of LCP Split 1 is played in Fearless Draft, meaning that this issue with K'Sante cannot recur for the remainder of the series. However, it remains to be seen whether this bug could impact other matches or competitions and whether one of the meta’s most sought-after champions might be temporarily disabled. As for the ongoing tournament, the winner of the CFO-GAM matchup will advance to face Viking Esports in the upper bracket final, while the loser will drop down to play against Talon in the lower bracket. As a reminder, the winner of Split 1 will qualify for First Stand, the first international event of the year.
