Dplus KIA defeats Nongshim RedForce 3-1 and secures their spot in the Upper Bracket
The LCK Cup playoffs are in full swing, with Dplus KIA (DK) securing a spot in the Upper Bracket after a 3-1 victory over Nongshim RedForce, sending them to the Lower Bracket. DK guarantees at least a Top 3 finish in the LCK Cup and will face the winner between Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports.
An exciting BO5 and a logical result
The BO5 went smoothly for DK, who had not lost a single BO since the start of the LCK Cup and were considered the favorites in Round Two against NS. And if the first game confirmed anything, it is that Skarner is the most banned champion of Season 15 for a reason. Choi "Lucid" Yong-hyeok did not hesitate to first pick him on the blue side, securing the first win for DK. The only game that Nongshim managed to secure was due to a clear draft difference. Son "Lehends" Si-woo's Shen (3/1/19 with 78% Kill Participation) was open, while Cho "BeryL" Geon-hee had a tough time on his Camille (1/10/1).
DK showcased a strong performance today and demonstrated the depth of their champion pool. The freshness brought by the two rookies, Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo and Lucid, has been a great boost for DK, as they seamlessly integrate with the rest of the team. This performance emphasizes DK's impressive rise, having come into the league with title-contender expectations and now meeting them head-on. Heo "ShowMaker" Su's performances across the four games were impressive, earning him the title of MVP of the series.
DK will face the winner of the BO5 between GEN.G and HLE, which takes place on February 16 at 7 am CET, while NS will square off against the loser of this same match, in a do-or-die BO5.
