HLE remain undefeated in the First Stand and have yet to drop a single game
Hanwha Life Esports cruises past CTBC Flying Oyster with a clean 2-0 win, staying undefeated in the competition. Han "Peanut" Wang-ho and his teammates secure the top spot in the standings and are all but guaranteed a spot in the semifinals, they still have to face Karmine Corp and Team Liquid. As for CFO, today's loss puts them at 1-1, with TL up next tomorrow and Top Esports the day after.
The first game of the BO3 ended in just 23 minutes, two minutes before Baron Nashor’s spawn. HLE dominated from start to finish, with Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo showing no mercy against Taiwanese rookie Tsai "HongQ" Ming-Hong, who finished 0/6/1 compared to the Korean midlaner’s 5/1/3. As for Choi "Zeus" Woo-je, he faced off against Hsu "Rest" Shih-Chieh in game one, a matchup that favored the world champion.
Game 2 was a much more explosive one, featuring some rare picks—some even unseen in years. Zeka locked in the first Zed at an international event since 2022, Zeus played Vladimir, and Yu "JunJia" Chun-chia pulled out his Kindred as a response. Kills were flying across the map, even triggering the Ruinous Atakan. But despite the chaos, the game quickly swung in favor of the LCK Cup champions, and the sub-in of Shen "Driver" Tsung-Hua made no difference. HLE close out the series 2-0 in the First Stand.
In the press conference, Zeus stated that the team had full confidence in Zeka and praised his strong mastery of assassins. He also mentioned that he had prepared to face both CFO top laners, considering Driver the stronger one since he plays more aggressively. Meanwhile, Ling "Kaiwing" Kai-wing emphasized the importance of individual performances within his team, believing they will be crucial in tomorrow’s matchup against Team Liquid.
