Karmine Corp will need a miracle against HLE and TES to qualify
After yesterday’s loss to Team Liquid, Karmine Corp suffered another heavy defeat, this time against CTBC Flying Oyster, falling 2-0. KC is a shadow of themselves and the level they showed in the LEC Winter Split, while CFO exceeded expectations and took a serious step toward a potential semifinal qualification. Yu "JunJia" Chun-Chia’s performance on Skarner and Sejuani earned him the MVP title of the series.
Game 1 started strong for the Flying Oysters, drafting Skarner is still a good idea even after the nerf he received, and JunJia made full use of it. Chiu "Doggo" Tzu-Chuan was unstoppable, finishing 5/0/6 on Ezreal. They secured every Drake and closed out the game in 29 minutes. Second Game was a bit closer in the early game, but Tsai "HongQ" Ming-Hong’s Taliyah took over in the mid game, and Doggo once again finished deathless with a 13/0/5 scoreline. Shen "Driver" Tsung-Hua subbed in for Hsu "Rest" Shih-Chieh and pulled out his Sion.
CFO just played their first match on Day 2 of the First Stand, and it’s a strong start as they gain a crucial advantage over their direct rivals for the last spot. Things are much tougher for Karmine Corp, who suffer their second straight loss and now must defeat Hanwha Life Esports and Top Esports to qualify for the semifinals.
In the press conference, Martin "Yike" Sundelin stated: "It's always believable to qualify—no one is going to give up. Everyone still believes. The most important thing is to keep our confidence and focus on what we're good at. Always try to have fun and stay confident." A message of hope from the Swedish jungler to his team and the Blue Wall fans.
