FearX showing signs of improvement, while NS continues to impress
BNK FearX finally picked up their first win in the LCK since August 10, 2024—breaking an eight-month winless streak. They managed to take down OK SavingsBank Brion in a tightly contested series, bouncing back after a promising but unsuccessful opener against Dplus KIA. The day’s second series saw Nongshim RedForce claim a hard-fought victory over the DN Freecs. Jung "Jiwoo" Ji-woo and Jeon "Raptor" Eo-jin stood out with strong performances, earning MVP honors.
Finally, A Win for BNK FearX
BNK FearX finally ended their eight-month winless streak in the LCK, but it certainly wasn’t an easy journey. The first game was a complete stomp by OK SavingsBank Brion, with Lee "Clozer" Ju-hyeon delivering a flawless 5/0/15 performance on Taliyah, contributing to over 90% of his team's kills. Despite a strong effort from Raptor on Naafiri, the FearX couldn't secure the win. With a win rate still sitting at a low 28%, Naafiri continues to struggle in the Korean jungle, unlike its reception in the Chinese scene.
However, the FearX made a strong comeback in games two and three. While the second game was closely contested, the third was a decisive victory, wrapping up in just 24 minutes. Nam "Diable" Dae-geun and Kim "Kellin" Hyeong-gyu played pivotal roles in this turnaround, and the FearX squad was finally able to savor the taste of victory, especially after a disappointing LCK Cup run where they failed to secure any BO3 wins.
2 games, 2 comebacks
Across both games, the series between NS and the Freecs stretched to nearly an hour and a half, and it was anything but easy for Jiwoo and his teammates. Game 1 was heavily dominated by Lee "DuDu" Dong-ju, who delivered a standout performance on Jayce. The gold graph was constantly in favor of the Freecs, peaking at a 5,000 gold lead around the 40-minute mark.
Despite their strong grip on the game, the Freecs couldn’t close it out. What followed was a chaotic, blood-soaked match that ultimately slipped through their fingers, allowing NS to capitalize on late-game mistakes and secure the win in painful fashion.
Game 2 also started in favor of the Freecs, with Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol landing skillshots with surgical precision on his Ezreal. For a while, it looked like they might even the series, but once again, Nongshim turned the tide—this time in a slightly less dramatic fashion. Just before the 30-minute mark, NS regained control, largely thanks to an outstanding performance from Jiwoo. On his Zeri, he dished out over 50,000 damage without dying once, ending the game with 21 kill participations out of 22 team kills. His carry performance was crucial in locking in Nongshim's second win of the split.
Tomorrow at 8 AM CET, KT Rolster will take on Dplus KIA, followed by one of the most iconic matchups in the LCK: T1 vs. Gen.G.
