On top of being a content creator for Team Heretics, Jackspektra will be a member of the LEC broadcast team next year.
Jakob "Jackspektra" Gullvag Kepple, former LEC ADC, announced his retirement in pursuit of content creation in late October — now, as a creator for Team Heretics, he has also reached an agreement to join the LEC broadcast as on-air talent next year. Former pro players have been among the most successful casters and analysts in the League of Legends esports space: Sam "Kobe" Hartman-Kenzler, Martin "Deficio" Lynge, and Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon are all notable examples.
Most recently, former LEC jungler Marc Robert "Caedrel" Lamont went from a fan-favorite caster to one of the biggest streamers in the world — pro players bring an unparalleled analytical edge to broadcasts and costreams, making Jackspektra a potentially invaluable asset for the LEC.
Ruddy Esports plans canceled
The Norweigan player previously had plans to compete semi-competitively with Ruddy Esports in the NLC, as reported by Sheep Esports, a star-studded roster hoping to take advantage of the new player POV streaming rules in the ERLs to make content. In the end, though, the LEC opportunity was a better path for him to pursue his content creation goals.
Ruddy Esports is still planning to field Lucas “Perkz” Perković, Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, and Adam “LIDER” Ilyasov, but Alf-Kristian "Nash" Sund — the previously reported support — was set to join the team with Jackspektra. With his plans changing, Ruddy Esports have settled on a new ADC and support to fill out their roster.
