New PCs, server checks and test sessions to be set up
The last few weeks have been complicated for VALORANT Champions Tour EMEA (VCT EMEA). Indeed, the league has had to deal with a number of technical problems affecting both players and viewers. On April 25, Karmine Corp was scheduled to take on Team Liquid, but technical problems struck again, causing the first map of this series to last three hours. These problems eventually led to postponing this weekend's matches following this major technical break.
The issues and this decision caused a lot of reactions among fans and even some club managers, such as Kamel “Kameto” Kebir, co-founder and owner of the Karmine Corp, who tweeted that he would no longer co-cast the VCT EMEA matches until the problems were resolved.
On this Monday, April 28, the league is providing an update on the situation and the next steps to be taken to ensure a smooth resumption of competition in the Berlin studio.
New Bundles for the studio
The league has announced some changes to its infrastructure to correct the problems, particularly those related to PCs. Here's what the VCTs are working on:
- New PCs: The Berlin studio's PCs will be replaced to bring players' performance in line with that of their work tool.
- Playtests organized internally by Rioters to test the various hardware.
- Test sessions with players: The league will organize a day dedicated to playtesting so that players can come and test PCs and give feedback to the Riot team.
- Server check: The league will also keep a close eye on the servers (online and offline) and their interaction with the PCs.
Some of these changes are already in place, while others will be implemented by April 30. If these adjustments succeed in rectifying the problems, the league plans to resume physical play at the Berlin studio this week. The public opening is scheduled for May 8, for the start of the Playoffs.

Compensation for fans
The league has also provided compensation for fans who were present on April 24, when the games were eventually postponed. Fans who traveled more than 200km to Berlin will receive:
- Tickets to the Champions Grand Final
- 2x tickets for the VCT EMEA
- A €300 voucher for Riot Games merchandise
- A Riot Gun Buddy for VALORANT
