ZETA are taking over the spot left by Rebels Gaming
ZETA Gaming will reportedly retain their spot in Spain's top division, according to Sheep Espors sources. After finishing last in the LVP Spring Split 2024 and ninth in the Summer Split, the Zaragoza-based team faced the Promotion Tournament to defend its place in the national elite. However, the club—one of Spain's most-followed organizations—lost in the final to Division 2 champions Veni Vidi Vici. After just one season in the Superliga, ZETA found themselves relegated.
Founded in December 2021, the team had previously spent two seasons in the second division. ZETA's results could have been improved, with a ninth-place finish in Spring 2022 marking their debut split. Their best showing came in Spring 2023, when they secured fourth place. ZETA earned their promotion to the top division by acquiring the slot vacated by Fnatic TQ, after the Black and Orange disbanded their academy.
A roster "that people will talk about"
This time, ZETA are taking over the spot left by Rebels Gaming, which announced on November 21 that they were exiting League of Legends to focus on Counter Strike 2 and EA FC 25. ZETA, which also field a VALORANT team in VCL Spain, now face the challenge of assembling a roster as the offseason nears its conclusion. According to sources, the organization aims to build a lineup “that people will talk about.”
