KPZET set to be benched, in favor of Yurii.
Spanish player Salvador "Yurii" Gasco has reached a verbal agreement with FC Barcelona to become its newest member in the VALORANT Challengers League Spain (VCL), according to Sheep Esports sources. The Blaugrana team is set to bench Victor "KPZET" Steensgaard, who will cease to be part of the starting roster from this point onward.
Last-Minute Transfer Ahead of the Playoffs
Currently ranked in third position, Barça Esports is set to move on to the playoffs of the VCL Spain: Rising after it finishes the group stage of the league. Per sources, it is expected that Yurii will debut with the team during the next week of matches, at the end of March. With this change, the team hopes to improve its performance and potentially contend with the two best teams in the league for a chance at earning itself a championship win.
On the other hand, Yurii previously competed with Case Esports, before leaving its active roster on February 26th. The player's former team currently risks elimination in the league, sitting in a shared 6-7th place. In other news, Case Esports was also reported this week to be exiting the LVP SuperLiga in League of Legends, a worrying sign for the organization.
