Xaio won three LVP 2nd Division titles, with Case Esports
Álvaro “Xaio” Hernández Carretero is set to return to Spain. After departing last summer for Gamespace MCE in the GLL, the Head Coach has reached a verbal agreement with Ramboot Club for the upcoming LVP season, according to Sheep Esports sources. Xaio has not coached in Spain's top division since July 2021, a season marked by challenges with BCN Squad, which finished 10th in the Spring and 9th in the Summer. However, the team managed to retain its spot in the league after the promotion/relegation tournament.
Not Xaio, who joined Case Esports in the 2nd Division. The move proved fruitful as Case, founded by footballer Casemiro, clinched the first split in their League of Legends history. A third-place finish in the Summer Split prior ensured Case a spot in the Up&Downs, though the team fell short of securing promotion. Xaio stayed on, and with a revamped roster, once again led his players to the top of Spain's second division.
First EMEA Masters
Case Esports went on to win both splits in 2023, securing this time promotion to the LVP. Replaced by André “Guilhoto” Pereira Guilhoto (reportedly headed to GIANTX in the LEC for 2025), Xaio had not found a new project for the start of the season. He then took on a role in Greece, finishing 4th in the GLL and participating in his first EMEA Masters. Unfortunately, Gamespace MCE was unable to advance beyond the Last Chance Qualifier.
Joining Ramboot, Xaio steps into a club aiming to solidify its standing in the top level of the Spanish League of Legends. After progressing through various stages, Ramboot reached the LVP in 2024. Following a mixed Spring Split (7th), the team achieved 3rd place in the Summer Split, which also earned the organization a place in its first-ever EMEA Masters. Ramboot were eliminated by the end of the Swiss Stage.
