The Canadian Support returns to Cloud9 after two years
Support Philippe "Vulcan" Laflamme has reached a verbal agreement with Cloud9 as their LCS starting support, sources confirmed with Sheep Esports. Vulcan will return to the North American organization after two years apart. He will be taking over the support spot left by Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen who announced returning to the AD Carry role on 𝕏.
In the path of jojopyun
This move follows Cloud9's acquistion of Midlaner Joseph Joon "jojopyun" Pyun, as reported previously. While the former teammates did not arrive as a package deal, Vulcan was also under consideration by Golden Guardians earlier this week. However, a sudden pause in offseason operations from the team operated by the Golden State Warriors resulted in Vulcan's potential acquisition falling through.
Cloud9 has been quite active this offseason despite their participation in Worlds. They are the second team to welcome two new players this offseason, following Immortals. However, neither team has completed their roster yet.
Vulcan alongside jojopyun previously won the LCS Championship in Spring 2022. The duo continued their journey with Evil Geniuses until the end of the Spring Split this year. While jojo remained with the team, Vulcan was traded to FlyQuest in exchange for Bill "Eyla" Nguyen.
Half a year later, the two players will reunite under the Cloud9 banner. They will aim to further bolster the record of the historic North American organization and its six LCS titles.
Cloud9 declined to provide a comment when approached by Sheep Esports.
