For their debut season in Germany’s League of Legends top division, Kaufland Hangry Knights are setting up a family reunion. According to Sheep Esports sources, toplaner Iwan “Venour” Skorikov, jungler Jochem “Rabble” van Graafeiland, and AD Carry Johannes “Fun K3y” Werner will be joining the newly promoted team for the upcoming Prime League season. This trio completes the roster, which had already decided to retain support Benjamin "Visdom" Larsen and agreed with midlaner Adam "Random" Grepl, as previously reported by Sheep Esports.

Except for the midlaner, nearly every member brings a familiar connection to the team. Rabble and Fun K3y launched their careers around the same time with AeQ in 2018, where Visdom joined them the following season, and all three played together during the Spring of 2019. Though they split up in the summer, Rabble and Visdom reunited in 2020 with GamerLegion for the very first Prime League season, finishing 3rd in both splits that year.

In 2023, Fun K3y played with Venour at UOL Sexy Edition, achieving great success as Unicorns of Love won the Prime League Spring Split and reached the EMEA Masters finals. In the Summer, they again qualified for the German championship final but lost to SK Gaming Prime, despite Fun K3y's MVP title for this split. Their story ended on a high note with a win at the Prime League Pokal.

A serious contender

After an exceptional 2023, Fun K3y joined Eintracht Spandau for the 2024 season, capturing another German championship title in the spring and, this time, the EMEA Masters title. However, his recent performances have been less notable, with Eintracht Spandau finishing only 5th in the Prime League in summer 2024. The organization therefore had to go through the Last Chance Qualifier of the EMEA Masters, but fell into the group of death and lost in its group final to Team GO.

For Venour, 2024 was a satisfying but somewhat frustrating year. With SK Gaming Prime, he lost the Spring Split final to his former teammate Fun K3y, then lost the Summer Lower Bracket final to his former team (UOL). All this, alongside a player who will continue to accompany him at KHK: Rabble.

On paper, Kaufland Hangry Knights have assembled a roster with serious ambitions, especially as the Prime League risks losing much of its competitive edge: Schalke 04 have exited, and Eintracht Spandau plan to build an “entertainment” rather than a competitive roster next season. According to our sources, SK Gaming Prime may follow the lead of 2024’s spring champions. Aside from BIG, who have also built a strong roster for the league, KHK appears to be one of the few teams poised to represent the German League of Legends.
