In 2024, flyuh was the IGL of Moist x Shopify, in VCL NA
Xavier “flyuh” Carlson is back in Tier 1 of the VALORANT world circuit. According to Sheep Esports sources, the American has reached a verbal agreement with Movistar KOI for the next VCT EMEA season. Flyuh had a stint with FaZe Clan in the VCT Americas in 2022 and after being part of the Moist Moguls for the majority of 2023, he received a spot as Initiator as well as in-game leader in Moist x Shopify in the VCL NA in 2024.
His team was one of the favorites to qualify for the Ascension Americas tournament. However, after a strong start to the year with a 5-0 record in Split 1, MxS struggled in Split 2, finishing 3-3. The team had nevertheless qualified for the end-of-season playoffs and could still hope to secure a ticket to the American promotion tournament. But MxS was unexpectedly beaten by TSM in the Lower Bracket Final of the playoffs. As a result, flyuh and his team finished in the Top 3, while only the Top 2 qualified for the Ascension tournament. He was then allowed to explore his options on September 6.
Two Tough Years
At KOI, flyuh joins a team in dire need of a fresh start. The Spanish club, which had already rebuilt almost everything at the start of this year, had another disastrous season in 2024: KOI finished last in their group in Stage 1 (1-4) and, despite a better result in the group stage of Stage 2 (2-3), did not qualify for the playoffs. KOI have therefore missed out on all the international tournaments they could have qualified for since joining the VCT EMEA in 2023. After two years, the organization is therefore still looking for the right formula.
As a reminder, the club has also reached verbal agreements with Dom “soulcas” Sulcas and Dawid “Filu” Czarneck, as previously reported by Sheep Esports. The 2025 roster is now complete, as Bogdan "Sheydos" Naumov and Grzegorz "GRUBINHO" Ryczko will remain in the team, still according to our sources.
