Davide “Sotze” Di Guida is set to embark on his journey through a sixth ERL. Having coached in the PGN, NLC, LFL Division 2, EBL, and Prime League, the Italian coach has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to join Movistar KOI as an Assistant Coach in the LVP, according to Sheep Esports sources. Ronan “jinjo” Swingler and CptMario were also considered by KOI's academy team. Sotze will serve as the assistant of Max “Raqo” Temminck, the team’s newly appointed Head Coach.

Movistar KOI’s roster for 2025 is already finalized, featuring Muhanad “Spooder” Maitham Sharad in the toplane, Edgaras “Eckas” Strazdauskas in the jungle, Bartłomiej “Fresskowy” Przewoźni in the midlane, William “UNF0RGIVEN” Nieminen as AD Carry, and Kamil “kamilius” Košťál as support. Despite Sotze’s experience but also the experience of some members of this new roster, he has not previously worked with any of these players.

Perfect Summer

Sotze’s standout year remains the 2023 season. He began it by reaching an ERL1 final for the first time with Diamant Esports in the EBL. Although the team fell to Partizan Esports, Sotze made his debut at the EMEA Masters just days later. While DIA didn’t make it out of the play-ins, Sotze rebounded in the summer by joining Team du Sud in LFL Division 2.

In France, Sotze took on the role of Head Coach—and excelled. The Blue Wave dominated Div2, finishing first in the regular season and securing the Summer Split title. Even more impressively, Sotze guided his team to promotion to the LFL through the Up&Down tournament. However, the Italian coach opted not to join a team in Spring 2024 and returned to ERL 1 only for the Summer, in Germany, with BIG. Despite a roster packed with well-known players—including Tamás “Vizicsacsi” Kiss, Chres “Sencux” Laursen, and Jesper “Jeskla” Strömberg—BIG ended the Summer Split in a disappointing 7th place.

Sotze is thereofre looking to bounce back... and so is the team he's joining. After an exceptional 2023 season for Movistar Riders—where four players were promoted to the LEC, three of them to MAD Lions—Movistar KOI only managed a 6th place finish in Spring and 5th in Summer during the 2024 season.
