Skillcamp are finally poised for their debut in LFL Division 2. Following Matéo “MAT” Ponton and Jakub “Highway” Baranowski, the organization has secured the services of jungler Roshan “Roshan” Visser, midlaner Alexis “Artoria” Diebold, and AD Carry Fares “Xicor” Saidana, per Sheep Esports sources. Roshan is unfamiliar with the gateway to the French elite, unlike the former duo. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old brings a wealth of experience from the ERL ecosystem. The Dutch player has competed in the NLC, Ultraliga, and ESLOL—the latter being the most fruitful of his career. Roshan claimed victory in the ESLOL Summer 2022 and recently triumphed at the Elite Series Benelux Masters 2024 with SNOOZE Esports.

Artoria departed the French scene in the Summer of 2023, following a single split in LFL Division 2 with Atletec. Before that, the French midlaner spent two years honing his craft in the lower tiers, the Nexus Tour, notably winning a third-division stage in 2022 with Yellow Stripes, Vitality's second academy. Since leaving France, Artoria has participated in three ERLs: the GLL in Summer 2023, the Hitpoint Masters in Spring 2024, and the Ultraliga in Summer 2024. However, he fell short of claiming any titles, with his best result being a fourth-place finish during his time in the Polish league. His stint in the Ultraliga earned him a spot in the first EMEA Masters of his career, but his team, GRP Esports, was eliminated in the first round of the Last Chance Qualifier.

Players with strong "social intelligence"

Meanwhile, Xicor brings substantial familiarity with LFL Division 2. The AD Carry competed throughout the 2024 season with Lille Esport. The Tunisian player also has experience in France’s premier division, having represented Team Oplon during the 2022 LFL season. However, his ventures in France have yet to yield significant success. Xicor concluded his LFL stint with Oplon in 10th and 9th place finishes and achieved modest results with Lille Esport in 2024, placing 7th in Spring and 8th in Summer. His foray into the Arabian League in 2023 was slightly more promising, although it peaked with a third-place finish.

As a reminder, MAT joined Skillcamp in August to share the toplaner position with Eric “Sleyer” Xie during the Nexus Tour 2024 playoffs. Before this, the rookie served as a substitute for Team du Sud and peaked at Challenger 1350 LP in SoloQ. Team captain Highway returns to LFL Division 2 after enduring health challenges last season with IziDream, which forced him to forfeit his spot during the Summer Split playoffs. He was replaced by Benoît “Benaset” Mergny, who at the time was Skillcamp's support at the lower level.

According to Sheep Esports, Skillcamp have tried to assemble a roster emphasizing players with strong "social intelligence" and "composed, thoughtful personalities." The organization’s priority is fostering team cohesion, as they note: “Without it, we’ll spend the year trying to get along with each other instead of focusing on progress.”
