Nsurr won the 2022 Nexus Tour alongside SkewMond, and the LPLOL Spring 2023
At 22 years old, Emilien “Nsurr” Gergaud was initially too old and ineligible to even attempt his chance. However, faced with a lack of compelling candidates for the support position, Karmine Corp decided to make an exception for their own rule they had set on November 9 when unveiling their Blue Stars project, which stipulated that the roster would be composed of players aged 19 years old at maximum.
To be more precise, enough young candidates fit the age criteria, but not with the French residency. With two non-LTR players locked, and the will to lock a Danish for the jungle position, Karmine Corp decided to remove their age limit to find a fitting support with a French residency.
Extended tryouts
Notably, this led to G2 Hel support Ève “Colomblbl” Monvoisin also participating in the tryouts. The French player would have become the first woman in history to join the second division of the French League of Legends network—no woman has ever competed in the LFL either. Colomblbl has, however, already played in an ERL 2 with the women's section of G2 Esports. It was in NLC, during Spring 2024. Later, she ended her 2024 season by winning the Coupe des Étoiles, one of the WNB circuit's main competitions.
In the end, the team decided to pick Emilien "Nsurr" Gergaud as support. The French player had also participated in the tryouts and convinced the French organization to complete the roster with him.
Nn t surr?
Nsurr is no stranger to Division 2, having debuted last summer with Project Conquerors. Despite a modest team result (5th place), Nsurr delivered an individually persuasive split. Two years prior, he competed in the lower tiers of the French circuit, the Mastercard Nexus Tour. There, he achieved a major milestone by winning the French third division with ViV Esports, playing alongside Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan, who now competes at the highest European level with G2 Esports. Nsurr also secured victory in the Up&Down tournament, earning his place in Division 2 for the following season but stepped away from the French circuit in 2023.
The last piece is coming
The French support subsequently ventured directly into ERL1 with LPLOL. He claimed the Portuguese championship and made his first career appearance at the EMEA Masters. Unfortunately, his journey ended in the play-ins and the player moved to another country for the rest of the season. Nsurr joined Germany’s Prime League 2 but finished 6th with WeSports. Before returning to France last summer, the support had spent the Spring 2024 in another ERL, the Arabian League. He had another tricky split there, finishing only 7th.
Nsurr becomes the fourth addition to Karmine Corp’s Blue Stars roster, joining toplaner Alessandro “Tao” Hong Tao, midlaner Mathis “MathisV” Vannieuwenuyse, and AD Carry Costin “Hazel” Pestrițu. KC have also found their Head Coach, Mario “CptMario” De La Torre, as previously reported by Sheep Esports. As a reminder, Karmine Corp will compete at three European League of Legends circuit levels: the LEC, the LFL, and LFL Division 2.
