After three years with Team Liquid, Jamppi is moving on.
Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen has reached an agreement with BBL Esports to join the Turkish organization ahead of the 2025 VCT EMEA season. Jamppi has played for Team Liquid since his competitive VALORANT debut in 2021, becoming an integral part of one of the leading EMEA rosters over the course of three years with the team.
Although 2022 didn’t bring any titles, the Finnish player still played a pivotal role for Liquid, and the team yet again qualified for two international events. In 2023, TL pulled off a Grand Finals upset against a Fnatic roster that was undefeated coming into the series, qualifying to Masters: Tokyo as EMEA’s first seed. Jamppi’s performance was crucial — he earned Liquid’s highest 2.0 Rating in the final (1.16), playing a key role in the team’s triumph.
However, Team Liquid saw extremely disappointing results this year, never even coming close to qualifying for an international tournament — and though they’ve qualified for many since, Team Liquid’s last impressive showing at an international event was a 3rd place finish at VCT Champions 2021.
BBL Esports saw similar results to Team Liquid this year, and have picked up the former CS:GO pro to help rebuild in the offseason. Jamppi is also set to be one of BBL’s first-ever non-Turkish players — until this year, every player on BBL’s roster has matched the organization’s nationality. Dawid “PROFEK” Święć, whose transfer to the organization was reported by Sheep Esports, will join Jamppi in bucking the trend.
As BBL finalizes its roster, Sheep Esports will continue to report on the organization’s decisions. To keep up with the offseason at large, don't forget to check out our VCT Transfers Hub.
